Steven W. Wall

Biography

Steven Wall brings 25 years of legislative and public policy advocacy experience to Blank Rome Government Relations LLC. His credentials include counsel and legislative responsibilities on the staffs of the Majority and Minority Leader of the U.S. Senate and several chairmen and ranking members of key committees in the Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. With an extensive professional background on both authorizing and appropriating sides of the legislative process, Steven’s work has included the successful passage of numerous major bipartisan pieces of legislation.

Prior to joining the firm, Steven most recently served as general counsel to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation (“Committee”). In that role he provided the Committee, including Chairman and Ranking Member Roger Wicker (R-MS), with administrative and ethics advice, interpreted and enforced Committee rules and jurisdiction, and contributed to the advancement of the bills under consideration by the Committee. Additionally, Steven led the nominations vetting process and supervised the work of the Committee’s oversight and investigations team.

Steven also previously served as deputy general counsel for the House Committee on House Administration; as a professional staff member with the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; and as general counsel for the Senate Agriculture Committee. In addition, he served as legislative director and counsel in the Office of Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS), and as legislative counsel in the Office of Senator Trent Lott (R-MS).

Steven has also worked in the private sector in government relations and public policy consulting. Before beginning his career in Washington, D.C., Steven practiced law in Jackson, Mississippi.

He earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law, his M.Sc. from The University of Edinburgh, and his B.P.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Mississippi.

Outside the Firm

Steven lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood with his wife and two daughters, where they are actively involved in church and other community activities.
