On September 14, 2007, the President signed the “Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007.” This new law contains significant changes to, among other laws, the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 (LDA), as well as modifications to Senate and House gift rules. Duncan Smith, Paul Honigberg, and Eric Wang of Blank Rome will discuss the important changes you need to know, including the new gift ban and travel restrictions, reporting lobbying activity, disclosure of earmarks and bundling of campaign contributions, and other provisions.
